Role Titles: Children and Youth Team Member

Following an initial conversation with the Team Leader for the Children’s and/or Youth Team there are now four stages to complete, as we welcome you onto one of our Children’s and Youth team. We recommend you will need a few hours to complete all of these stages.

STAGE ONE. Read

As you begin your Application, please read the Role Expectation document appropriate to your role, our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy. At the end of your application you’ll be asked to confirm that you have read, understand and will put these into practice.

We anticipate it will take 20 minutes to read these documents.

STAGE TWO. Submit

When you have prayerfully considered whether it is right for you to apply for the role, please submit the following forms.

STAGE THREE. Apply

Please follow the links below to help us to apply for your enhanced DBS Validation.

As a Children’s and Youth Team Member we will be applying for you to have an Enhanced DBS to work with Children.

You will require the following login details:

To complete this application, you will require appropriate ID documents (i.e. Driving Licence, Passport, National Insurance Number) and your address history for the last 5 years.

STAGE FOUR. Complete

Please now complete Safeguarding Training.

The following link will take you to the Church of England Safeguarding Training Portal. To access this you will need to create an account. From the portal you can undertake the level of training that you require.

All Team Members are required to undertake:

Basic-Level Safeguarding Training

Foundation-Level Safeguarding Training

Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training (this is recommended for those who assist at WilfTots Wednesday)

For those who are invited to take on leadership positions within the teams, a further training module requires completion:

Leadership-Level Safeguarding Training

We anticipate it will take 1 hour 30 minutes to complete each of required training courses.

Undertake Safeguarding Training

When you have completed the training, please send a copy of your certificates to our safer-recruitment team.

What happens next?

Thank you for taking the time to engage with this process. The next thing to happen is that you will receive confirmation that your application and copy of your safeguarding certificate has been received. Follow which, the Ministry Team Leader for the team that you are applying to join will help integrate you into team.
